Free live workshop for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade literacy teachers

Tier 1 instruction that works

The goal isn’t to fit everything in every day; it’s to know what belongs in your literacy block (and why).

In this free workshop, you’ll learn how to organize reading, writing, and word study into a clear, manageable weekly plan. You’ll use repeatable routines that work alongside your required curriculum and support more of your students during whole group.

Attend live and you’ll get 60 minutes of PD credit, the replay, and our free literacy block checklist.

Your literacy block has a lot of moving pieces

âś“

You’re trying to fit comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, word study, fluency, and small groups into 60 or 90 minutes.

âś“

You’ve been told small groups are the answer to everything… so whole group never gets the attention it deserves.

âś“

You teach a skill on Monday, and by Friday it’s back on the reteach list.

âś“

You’ve listened to the podcasts and done the trainings. You know so much more than you used to. And you’re still piecing it all together.

Here’s the thing… that’s not because you haven’t worked hard enough.

Most upper elementary teachers were handed a curriculum and a standards checklist. Not a clear plan for how to teach literacy effectively.

The good news is the answer isn’t more effort. It’s a plan for how the pieces fit together, and routines that make it doable week after week. That’s what we’ll build together.

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

1

The 4 buckets every strong Tier 1 block needs (and why you don’t have to teach everything every day)

2

Sample schedules for 60, 90, and 120-minute blocks, including an A/B day plan for when time is tight

3

The 3-2-1 reading routine that builds background knowledge, vocabulary, and sentence-level understanding with any text… even the one your curriculum gives you

4

How to break paragraph writing into bite-sized daily steps your reluctant writers can actually manage

5

5 quick questions that show whether you need to supplement, plus 4 ways to do it while still following your required curriculum

Required curriculum? Mandated small groups? A pacing guide you can’t skip?

This workshop was built with all of that in mind.

It works alongside your required curriculum.

You don’t have to choose between what your school expects and what your students need.

No overhaul required.

Pick one routine and start putting it into practice this week.

You’ll leave with a plan.

Not one more pile of ideas to sort through on a Sunday night.

Show up live and you’ll get:

A certificate for 60 minutes of PD credit

What teachers are saying

“

The routines made my class more organized and the learning and teaching easier for me and my students.

Amy, Multi-Grade Teacher

“

SLC has helped me explicitly teach students how to construct grade-level-worthy sentences and paragraphs. The scores on our state testing have increased greatly from using the writing routines.

Jessica, 4th Grade Teacher

“

The 321 is amazing! My colleague brought this to our team last year after attending, and it transformed our literacy block.

Kara, 3rd Grade Teacher

Sara Marye

Hi, I’m Sara!

I used to teach 4th grade, and my literacy block felt like a puzzle I could never quite put together.

Somewhere along the way, I realized I was assigning passages, prompts, and task cards… but I wasn’t always teaching literacy. I was managing activities.

Now I help upper elementary teachers build their literacy block around research-aligned, repeatable routines. That way you can stop second-guessing yourself and teach with more clarity, structure, and confidence.

Frequently asked questions

Is this workshop really free?+

Yes!

When is it?+

We host this workshop almost every week. Pick the upcoming date and time that work best for you when you register.

What if I can’t make it live?+

No problem! Just come back and choose a new date and time that fit your schedule. Replays are only sent to live attendees, so plan to join us live.

I’m an instructional coach or special education teacher. Is this for me?+

If you support literacy in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade, yes. Coaches often use the sample schedules and routines with their whole team.

I have a required curriculum. Will this still help?+

Absolutely. A whole section of the workshop covers how to supplement strategically without abandoning what your school requires.

Is this just a sales pitch?+

Nope! Most of our time together is spent building your plan, and everything you learn is yours to use, whether or not you ever join us. At the end, I’ll share how the Stellar Literacy Collective, our membership for 3rd to 5th grade teachers, can help you put this plan into practice if you’d like more support.
