School Sales & Partnerships
Specialist
About The Stellar Teacher Company
The Stellar Teacher Company helps upper-elementary educators make literacy instruction more effective and easier to implement. Through the Stellar Literacy Collective (SLC), we provide 3rd–5th grade teachers and schools with research-aligned literacy resources, instructional routines, intervention support, and professional development.
Role overview
We're looking for our first-ever School Sales & Partnerships Specialist — a new role dedicated to growing how schools discover, purchase, and continue using the Stellar Literacy Collective.
We've already proven that schools want what we offer. Now we're ready to see what happens when one talented person is focused on growing this part of our business.
This is not a role with a detailed playbook. You'll help us build and improve our school sales process, renewal strategy, and the systems behind both, with increasing ownership as you demonstrate success in the role.
If you need clearly defined tasks and step-by-step instructions before you can take action, this probably isn't the role for you. If you like ownership, problem-solving, experimentation, and the opportunity to build something, keep reading.
The priority, in order: generate new sales first, nurture existing accounts second. Revenue from new schools allows us to continue investing in this part of the business and, eventually, build out a dedicated customer-success function.
What you'll do
Sales & Business Development
If you don't enjoy talking to people on the phone, this probably isn't the position for you. This isn't a high-volume call center role, but phone calls, follow-ups, and virtual meetings with schools will be a regular part of your work.
Convert Individual Members into School-Wide Partnerships
We have individual teachers who are already members and already believe in what we offer — some of them are sitting inside schools that could become full partnerships. This is one of our most promising, underused lead sources, and part of this role.
Account Management & Renewals
Systems & Operations
Marketing & Content
We're a small team, so you'll wear multiple hats. We're not looking for someone who simply completes a task list. We want someone who notices opportunities, researches solutions, and brings ideas to the table.
Who you are
You know how to influence people and move them toward action.
You understand education and literacy — or can learn quickly.
You're a genuine self-starter.
You're motivated by measurable results.
You're a strong relationship builder.
You're organized and comfortable with technology.
Hours, pay & benefits
Schedule
This is a remote, part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week. Because you'll be communicating with schools across multiple U.S. time zones, this is not initially a choose-your-own-hours role.
Compensation & Benefits
This position will begin at approximately 20 hours per week. As our school division grows, there is an opportunity for this role to expand into a full-time position for someone who consistently delivers results and demonstrates strong ownership of the school sales channel.
Onboarding & How Success Is Measured
Ultimately, success in this role means measurable growth in school revenue, a healthy pipeline of future opportunities, strong school relationships, and increasing ownership of the school sales function.
This Might Be the Right Role for You If...
You get excited about taking something with proven potential and figuring out how big it can become. You like measurable goals, enjoy talking to people, build strong relationships, and aren't afraid to pick up the phone.
You're persistent without being pushy. You're curious about literacy and willing to deeply learn the product you're selling. You notice opportunities, bring ideas to the table, and are willing to try something even when there's no guarantee it will work the first time.
Most importantly, you're looking for more than a part-time remote job. You're excited about the opportunity to build something, own it, and potentially grow your role along with it.
